Parenting is HARD.  There is no instruction manual but there is overwhelming advice, ideas, philosophies, etc. The one thing I believe most can agree on is that there is no ONE way to raise a child. Every child is unique and different and what works for one son or daughter will likely not work for the other. There is no "one and done" parenting style. You need to take your personality, your child's personality, trauma, history, and so many other things into consideration when figuring out who you want to be as a parent. I promise this WILL be overwhelming. I promise this will be EXHAUSTING. FRUSTRATING. And I also promise this will be REWARDING. FRUITFUL. WORTH IT. FULFILLING. 

You want your child to feel safe and secure in your love. That's where building the roots comes in. Establish the groundwork and take the time to cultivate the routines, relationships, playfulness so that, no matter what may come, your child sees and knows you are their lighthouse. The beacon of light as they venture out to places unknown and the very same light that guides them in times of trouble.
